West Chester University (WCU) is a public, regional comprehensive institution founded in 1871 and located 25 miles southeast of Philadelphia in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  WCU is the fourth largest university in the Philadelphia region and the largest university of the 14 institutions that comprise the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

There are currently about 16,500 students enrolled at WCU – approximately 14,000 are undergraduates.  West Chester University is committed to providing a high-quality education at both undergraduate and graduate level, offering over 100 undergraduate and more than 80 graduate degree programs:  http://www.wcupa.edu/_academics/programs/ .  WCU is consistently placed by US News & World Report in the Top Public Schools (North) and Regional Universities (North) rankings.

We are pleased to have recently partnered with ELS Language Centers, so students who require additional English language training can be conditionally accepted to WCU and enroll at ELS at West Chester University.  Upon completion of the ELS program, students can matriculate at WCU!

Campus Life

Academics are important, but life at West Chester University is not just about your classes – it’s also about making friends and experiencing new things.  In addition to your studies, your time at WCU is an opportunity to get involved in campus life.  With over 300 student clubs and organizations as well as 24 NCAA Division II sports teams, there is no excuse not to become a part of the campus community!

West Chester University is also a globally-welcoming environment – we have international students from over 50 countries and a dedicated Center for International Programs office that supports and advises current international students.  The Center for International Programs also devises special programming for students to help with integration, adjustment, and engagement into the academic, cultural and social life at WCU.  Assistance with employment authorization including Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT) is also offered by this office.
