If you are interested in the science behind exercise and sport, this industry-focused degree is for you. Taught in state-of-the-art facilities, the degree gives you an understanding of the impact exercise and physical activity has on the biological, psychological and social parameters of human life.
You will learn from world-class researchers (85 per cent of our teaching staff have PhDs), including some of Australia’s leading scientists and high-performance coaches. These teachers have a practical approach to learning, which means you get to work on real-world projects and gain direct practical experience.
You will graduate with valuable industry connections with some of the big players in the field, thanks to the University’s alliances with a number of elite sporting teams.
The University has invested millions of dollars in new buildings and facilities to give you the best learning outcomes. These new, innovative spaces include on-campus facilities designed for exercise testing and performance analysis, such as the High Performance and Exercise Physiology Clinic, Environmental Chamber and a Health and Fitness Centre.
Following graduation, you will be eligible to apply for membership as an accredited exercise scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
Graduates end up in careers using biomechanics, physiology, psychology and performance analysis to increase fitness and performance.
