Teesside University’s School of Health &Social Care offers courses in nursing, midwifery, diagnostic radiography, public health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, operating department practice, sport and exercise, dental hygiene and dental therapy, leadership and management and more. The courses in our School are regulated by the professional and statutory bodies.

Our degrees promote evidence-based practice, giving you the most up-to-date knowledge and skills to deliver effective care. While you are studying our health and social care courses you work in purpose-built facilities simulating practice environments such as hospital wards, dental clinics and social care settings.

Teesside University’s campus is located in Middlesbrough’s town centre. On campus, you will have access to our newly-refurbished, 24-hour library, a £6m gym, social spaces and eating places. Within five minutes’ walk, you can find a wide range of shops, restaurants, international supermarkets, an international art gallery, a cinema and student-friendly bars and cafes.

The campus is well-connected to the rest of the UK by public transport, with historic cities, stunning countryside and beautiful coastlines close by. You can reach London, Manchester and Edinburgh in under three hours by train.

As an international student, you have access to a free meet and greet service when you arrive at the airport, we guarantee to help international students who apply before 1 September of the year they start with affordable student housing within easy reach of the University.

To study at a British university and to enrol on a course in our School, you need a high level of English. You will need to be able to confidently write academic essays and reports, listen to lectures and take notes, summarise academic texts, give presentations and take part in discussions. Therefore, for courses that lead to professional registration you will need to have IELTS 7.0 to meet professional and statutory body requirements, which allows you to apply for registration once you have successfully completed a course. Once you begin your full degree programme, you also have access to free-of-charge English language classes and services to help you continue to improve.
