New Zealand’s Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) has been educating successful graduates since 1905. NMIT is a government institute delivering world class education across three campuses based at the top of the South Island. You can be confident of achieving qualifications that compare to leading educational institutions all around the world. All qualifications offered by NMIT are approved at the highest Category 1 standard by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Over 7,000 students study at NMIT every year across certificate, diploma, bachelors, postgraduate and masters study. Students are taught and supported in their studies by experienced, industry-savvy lecturers and support staff from a wide range of countries. Over $43 million has been invested in recent years in a range of modern facilities. These include the award winning Creative Industries building and the very latest Maritime simulation software suites. The facilities have been built so students receive the best learning experience and use the equipment they will use every day in their career.

NMIT delivers over 100 programmes of study in the following areas: Aquaculture, Arts and Media, Business Management, Information Technology, Cookery and Hospitality, Counselling and Social Work, English Language, Fitness, Foundation Studies, Hair and Beauty, Health and Nursing, Horticulture, Maritime Studies, Tourism and Travel, and Viticulture and Wine.

 

NMIT students

 

Our programmes are developed in consultation, and delivered in partnership, with local companies, organisations and industries. Students will meet and be taught by experts from their future profession. In many programmes they will experience placements that give them a taste of their new career. NMIT’s programmes are designed with industry to create graduates that meet the local and international job market needs.

All students have access to SANITI which is our fun, friendly and independent student association. Their services include events, support, advocacy and assistance with employment. In conjunction with NMIT, SANITI has arranged a number of activities for our international students which showcase our region and the kiwi way of life. They are a great way to see the local hot spots and meet students from all around the world.

The Nelson/Marlborough region one of the most beautiful regions of  New Zealand. Nelson is home to New Zealand’s largest deep sea fishing port, is one of the fastest growing regions and the campus is only 2 minutes walk to the city! Nelson/Marlborough is the sunniest region and is one of the safest places to live in New Zealand. Marlborough is the hub for New Zealand wine, producing over 75% of New Zealand’s total production. With four national parks, beautiful beaches and mountains, the Nelson Marlborough region offers a fantastic New Zealand lifestyle.
