Located in sunny Melbourne, Florida, where the average daily temperature is 22 degrees Celsius, Florida Tech is ranked U.S. News & World Report’s No. 1 place to live near the beach. Melbourne offers the warmth, safety and security of a small town as well as the energy, convenience and amenities of a large city, with nearby Orlando—home to Disney World!—about an hour away.

The university’s proximity to the Atlantic coastline of Central Florida in Brevard County, better known as the “Space Coast,” places us in the state’s High Tech Corridor, which is home to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, SpaceX and Blue Origin offices, United Space Alliance and many other significant government agencies and technology companies. The area has the most concentrated technology economy in the state and one of the largest high-tech workforces in the nation, which results in ample opportunities for students to network with top employers and find internships, cooperative workplace learning experiences and careers.

On campus, Florida Tech offers unique facilities, like the Harris Student Design Center, where students collaboratively design and fabricate engineering projects using laser cutters, computer numeric control (CNC) machines, welding stations, 3D printers and other tools. The university’s Ortega Telescope hosts monthly stargazing parties while the Digital Scholarship Lab offers students access to new media, research and design technologies. Campus also includes a 15-acre botanical garden, student success center, state-of-the-art aquatic facility, world-renowned autism treatment center and more than 100 special-focus laboratories devoted to research for the betterment of humankind.

A truly global university, Florida Tech attracts undergraduate and graduate students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries worldwide. In fact, students from outside the United States account for about one-third of our student population, and U.S. News & World Report continually ranks Florida Tech the best national university for fostering international student experiences in the U.S. From global cuisine in our dining hall to the annual International Festival hosted by our Office of International Student a Scholar Services, we are dedicated to making Florida Tech your home away from home and continually reminding you why you chose Florida Tech.

Our generous scholarship and financial aid packages aim to ensure that no student is denied a quality education solely because of his/her financial situation. A Florida Tech education is challenging, engaging, inclusive and affordable. But most important, it’s worth it. Payscale places Florida Tech in the top 8% for return on investment among U.S. colleges. But to us, the best measurement of our success is the success of our students and alumni. With 95% becoming employed or attending graduate school after graduation, Florida Tech alumni go on to become visionary engineers, scientists, aviators, innovators, leaders, educators, athletes and astronauts.
