Specials and Package Deals

Students who wish to study General English full-time at AIS are offered a special rate of NZ$250 per week. In addition to this, students who wish to enrol in an academic programme at AIS but have a level of English below our requirements (whether tested or not) are offered the following:

  • 12 weeks free English with any postgraduate courses
  • 6 weeks free English with all other academic courses (excluding certificates)

Upon completion of 12 or 6 weeks English studies (or more), and before admission to their academic programme of choice, students will be advised to take an intermediate step – which is to pass the AIS internal test of English, also known as the TEP test.

Introducing the AIS TEP test

Students who have not previously tested their level of English through either IELTS or TOEFL are encouraged to make use of the AIS Test of English Proficiency (TEP) – this is an in-house test equivalent to IELTS and TOEFL. As at March 2014, the test can be done both on-campus and offshore at the nearest education agency and is recognized by Immigration New Zealand.

Employment Placement Support

AIS offers employment placement support to students who wish to gain work experience in New Zealand during and after their studies, and to students who wish to settle in New Zealand permanently. The Student Job Search Centre is able to help students write their CV’s and Cover Letters and assist in search of employment opportunities.
The SJSC also coordinates internships for MBA students (as part of the course) and for graduates who complete any AIS academic programme level 7 and above and hold a valid 12-months Post-Study Work Visa. These internships, although unpaid, are often with large multinational companies and offer valuable NZ work experience.
Students enrolled in an English language course 6 months or more in duration, with an IELTS score of 5.0 or more, also qualify for employment support via SJSC.
